Announcement: GuitarControl.com releases “Shred Guitar Lesson on Picking Technique - Speed Building Exercise with Alternate Picking”

(PRWEB) November 05, 2014

In this easy lead guitar lesson Claude teaches an exercise on how to build up speed using the technique of alternate picking.

“I am going to keep it simple by staying on one string”, says Johnson. Through out the exercise Claude changes it up so that all four fingers get utilized by moving from patterns based out of the major scale to patterns based out the pentatonic scale.

Claude demonstrates the exercise as follows; 9th fret with first finger as a down stroke, to the 10th fret with 2nd finger as an up stroke, to the 12th fret with 4th finger as a down stroke and then simple ascends and descends this sequence over and over again.

Johnson continues by switching up to different fret spans as to use the other fingers and to “keep it musical”. Guitar TAB’s are available for this easy lead guitar lesson at GuitarControl.com.

The major scale, aka the Ionian Mode, is a seven tone diatonic scale that is widely used in western music. The eighth duplicates the first at double its frequency so that it is called a higher octave of the same note, which its name is derived from Latin "octavus", the eighth.

A Pentatonic Scale is a musical scale with five notes per octave and is very common and found all over the world.
