Announcement: GuitarControl.com releases “Acoustic Guitar Lesson on Finger picking Technique”

(PRWEB) November 04, 2014

“Today I want to give you a quick lesson about finger picking on the acoustic guitar”, says Johnson, “I like to use my pick while I’m doing some finger plucking”. This technique that Johnson is referring to is called hybrid picking and is staple in the country genre. “The reason I like to do this is so that I can go from a finger style to strumming without ever having to let go of my pick”, says Johnson. Claude demonstrates this using a chord pattern as follows; Em (E minor) to Am (A minor). The picking pattern that Claude plays is as follows; 6th string with the pick, first string with 3rd finger, 2nd string with 2nd finger, 3rd string with pick, first string with 3rd finger, 2nd string with 2nd finger, 3rd string with pick and finally ending with first string with 3rd finger. Johnson uses that pattern for the Em and then changes from the 6th string to the 5th string for the Am and kee ps the rest of the sequence the same. Guitar TAB’s are available for this easy acoustic guitar lesson at GuitarControl.com.

Hybrid Picking is a technique where the guitarist uses a flat pick with the thumb and first finger and finger picks with the remaining fingers. Double Stops is the technique of playing two strings at the same time, usually done using the hybrid picking technique.
