Child Health Technology Wins Health 2.0 Launch! in Silicon Valley

Santa Clara, California (PRWEB) September 29, 2014

SONNY Movement is an assessment and rehabilitation platform targeted at children with brain injury and movement disorders. With the clever use of the X-box Kinect motion sensing device, SONNY Movement provides a gamified user experience, setting it apart from other assessment and rehabilitation platforms. A child is completely immersed in play whilst completing critical assessment movements and rehabilitation exercises.

Curve Tomorrow Director Mohinder Jaimangal said “it is truly amazing to be recognised by other passionate innovators in Silicon Valley [as] a leader in digital health”. From a technology perspective Mohinder explains, “the 3D camera allows us to analyse movement of the child remotely in real time. By recording these movements as they happen we can collect accurate data that aids their rehabilitation.”

MCRI researcher and clinician, Jane Galvin, says being able to assess children using SONNY movement allows for a more streamlined, accurate and efficient process while also being fun and engaging.

“A therapist can log onto the system and see what tasks are working for the child and what areas need development,” said Jane. “Setting achievable milestones may sound like a small thing, but for children who are recovering from an illness or accident, accomplishing small milestones throughout their recovery can make all the difference and keep them motivated.”

SONNY Movement presents a unique opportunity to change the lives of millions of children around the world.
