Free Flow Wines Presents the Winners of the First Annual Keggy Awards for Wine on Tap Sustainability Achievements

Free Flow Wines, the pioneer of premium wine on tap, announced the winners of their first annual Keggy Awards that recognize wineries for their sustainability achievements in wine on tap. The winners include Au Bon Climat, Qupé, Constellation Brands, Francis Ford Coppola Winery, Hahn Family Wines, King Estate Winery, and The Wine Group. These wineries have each saved at least 100,000 wine bottles, for a total of well over 1 million bottles, from landfills since they began kegging their wine with Free Flow Wines. Free Flow Wines’ complete client base has saved over 3.9 million bottles from landfills since the company’s inception in 2009. The Keggy Award winners were presented with their trophies yesterday at an intimate event at the Free Flow Wines headquarters in Napa.

In addition, Free Flow Wines announced that they are performing a 12-month technical and sensory analysis of wine quality in reusable stainless steel kegs. The program will run throughout the next year and will include feedback and analysis from a panel of wine industry experts including: DLynn Proctor, Sommelier and Star of the documentary film SOMM; Zeke Neely, Winemaker at Trefethen Family Vineyards; and Winemaker & Master Sommelier, William Sherer. King Estate Winery has partnered with Free Flow Wines on the program and will be donating the wine to be analyzed throughout the process.
