In the book, Magro looks at his own personal experiences as an adult on the autism spectrum and being in a romantic relationship. As children grow up, these relationships will be possible for some on the autism spectrum. Magro’s first hand experience discussing “The One That Got Away” will open the reader to a new line of thinking while breaking down the barriers of ignorance between autism and love. Those on the autism spectrum will learn more on relationships and how they can go about finding their next partner while neurotypicals will learn some things you may expect while dating someone with autism.

Magro’s story is remarkable in itself. As a young child he was nonverbal until two and a half years old, kicked out of two preschools because the teachers couldn’t handle him, and received an official autism diagnosis at four No one could have predicted what he has been able to accomplish today. Struggling with social and communication delays, the thought of finding ‘the one’ never even crossed his mind. .

The now 26-year-old NJ native recently received his master’s degree in strategic communications from Seton Hall University, is founder of KFM Making a Difference, author and consultant for the motion picture “Joyful Noise” which earned over $ 30 million in the United States! Magro followed up this motion picture with work on two indie films in “Jane Wants a Boyfriend” and “Don’t Foil My Plans” which are both set to come out in 2015. He is a young man who has embraced both the challenges and successes of autism. Today, Magro calls them “constraints and opportunities” and says he has turned his disability into an A-Bility.

Kerry who came out with his debut book “Defining Autism From The Heart: From Nonverbal to National Speaker” on July 8, 2013 saw it hit #1 on an Amazon Best Seller List for Special Needs Parenting in only 3 days, taking over the spot from world renowned autism advocate Dr. Temple Grandin’s latest book, “The Autistic Brain.”

While Magro hopes this book will shine a light on the possibilities of autism and love, he also hopes to raise money for some worthwhile charities.

“I’m donating all the royalties from my next book to Autism Speaks and Best Buddies. ‘The One That Got Away,’ my inspiration for this book, has a tremendous heart and I wanted to do something to give back to a cause that she feels passionately about. We hope that the proceeds of the book will be able to underwrite the cost of an integrated job for an adult with an intellectual and/or developmental disability and also fund a high school or college Best Buddies Chapter.
