Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) December 03, 2014

The 83rd Annual Christmas Parade featured Stevie Wonder as the grand marshal, amongst many film and television stars, marching bands, balloons and equestrian units to welcome the Holiday Season. Representing “The Way to Happiness” at this year’s Parade was award-winning film and television actress Erika Christensen, currently starring in Ron Howard’s “Parenthood”, the NBC family drama now in its sixth season. The float featured the universal message of “Safeguard and Improve Your Environment” from "The Way to Happiness" book as it made its way down Hollywood Blvd, Vine St. and Sunset Blvd.

Working to raise awareness on the environment Erika stated, "I am passionate about environmental causes, so I love the message of our float this year. Every single person shares responsibility for taking care of our environment and The Way to Happiness booklet truly inspires that in people, so I'm proud to be representing it." The float featured a beautiful forest theme with children from different cultures from across Los Angeles in support of “Safeguard and Improve Your Environment.”

"The Way to Happiness" is a common sense guide to better living containing 21 precepts of moral values that are relevant to all people of all races and nationalities. These are points such as treating others as you would like them to treat you, helping children, honoring your parents, being competent and industrious and many more. The book was first published in 1981 and since has been translated into 97 languages and holds the Guinness World Record as the most translated book by one author. To date over 112 million copies have been passed from hand to hand in all continents.

The floats, marching bands, balloons and grand finale of Santa at the TCL Chinese Theatre brought holiday cheer and happiness to crowds lined up along the streets of Hollywood, Vine and Sunset despite the rainy weather. Broadcasting of the parade will be on Dec. 10 and 19 on the Hallmark Channel and Dec. 19 and 21 on KTLA.

The parade has been held since 1928, produced by the Hollywood Santa Parade LLC and presented by the City of Los Angeles and Associated Television International.
