Claude demonstrates this easy blues shuffle based in the 12 bar 1-4-5 progression in the key of E with licks based out of the open position of the E minor pentatonic scale and incorporates licks using double stops. The shuffle rhythm is simply the open 6th string for the one chord and the open 5th string for the four chord and they are picked with a shuffle feel to them and then Claude uses the hybrid picking technique for the licks. Guitar TABâs are available for t his easy beginner acoustic blues guitar lesson at GuitarControl.com.
The 12 Bar Chord Progression is one of the most common chord progressions in popular music. It is most commonly based on the 1-4-5 or 1-4-5-b6 (flat 6) chord progressions. The last two measures is usually a turnaround.
A Pentatonic Scale is a musical scale with five notes per octave and is very common and found all over the world.
Double Stops is the technique of playing two strings at the same time, usually done using the hybrid picking technique.
