When author and grandmother Ella Elliott Colvin noticed some of her granddaughter’s drawings of fairies, she felt inspired to write a story based around those images.

Colvin’s new book, “At the End of the Rainbow: Lived Five Sisters without Fairy power” (published by AuthorHouse), transforms these images into an engaging narrative that emulates the power of dreaming.

Set in the mythical Rainbow Land, “At the End of the Rainbow” centers on five sisters, daughters of a fairy. Despite their lineage, the girls were born without any fairy powers, which means they are not able to see the colors of the rainbow unless they are outside.

Determined to see colors both inside and outside, the five sisters â€" Sophie, Chloe, Natalie and Lulu â€" embark on an adventure to find a way to see all of the colors no matter where they are. Along the way, the girls face daring challenges and obstacles as they search for their fairy powers.

“According to my granddaughter,” Colvin explains, “fairies earn their wings and power. I wanted to put a twist on this storyline: wings but no fairy power.”
