The Kegel Bear: Seattle Mom Authors Children's Book with Built-in Vaginal Exercise Reminders
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) January 03, 2015
Following the birth of her second child, Natalie Bayne had begun to wonder when she would ever find time â" between feedings, diaper changes, and preschool pickups â" to get her pelvic floor back into shape. âMy OB kept telling me to try to work some Kegel exercises into my daily routine,â explains Bayne. â'What routine?' I kept thinking. My life is chaos. I'm so sleep deprived I can barely remember to put on pants some days. But then it hit me. There is one thing I do with almost painful regularity: read the same book to my three-year-old a thousand times a day.â
And that's what got Bayne thinking. What if there was a children's book that was entertaining for kids but was also filled with subtle reminders for moms to get squeezing? So she wrote a funny story and then pitched the idea to her friend and talented artist, Bill Robinson, who most recently completed illustrations for Book One of a new young adult series based on the massive hit Disney movie, Frozen. Bill loved the idea and The Kegel Bear was born.
Bayne launched a successful Kickstarter campaign this past Labor Day (*wink*) to fund the printing of the 32-page, full color, hardcover book and has begun shipping copies all over the world. âWhile the concept might sound a bit unconventional,â says Bayne, âit's actually a very practical gift. The kids get a funny story about a bear, while moms will get that all-important reminder to SQUEEZE!â
âThe Kegel Bearâ is available now. For more information, visit the bookâs official website: http://www.thekegelbear.com.
