Music Video About "Nappy" Hair By Female Hip Hop Artist La ' Vega Goes Viral on YouTube
New York, New York (PRWEB) March 16, 2015
Born in Bronx, New York, but of Dominican decent, La ' Vega (Stephanie Lavigat) is one of the city's most popular up-and-coming Hip Hop artists. She's signed to MVB Entertainment Music Group (MVBEMG), and boasts an extensive catalog of published and unreleased music.
To her fans, she's loved for her "girl next door" persona and straight forward lyrics; she does not bite her tongue for anyone. In her third music video with director Taya Simmons, her truthfulness and pain from her past comes out in a beautiful song and video called "Nappy".
For La ' Vega and so many other females like her, growing up with coarse hair can be tough. The lyrics in "Nappy" reveal a young girl that felt isolated and ashamed of her hair texture, all because of how other people treated her.
The music video features young Black and Hispanic girls with natural hair, going through a range of emotions. At times the tears and smiles of the young girls show an innocence that can easily be trampled on by the stigmas of "Nappy" hair.
Immediately after it was released on YouTube her fans rushed to view the video, and the likes and comments on the video started coming in. The single "Nappy" can be found on iTunes, Spotify, Xbox Music, Rhapsody, and many more popular online music stores.
La ' Vega's manager and label owner Abdel "Sosa" Russell, said the reaction and interaction within the first three days of the "Nappy" music video release, clearly shows that the video is La ' Vega's best so far. He also mentioned that La ' Vega's 6th mixtape "GoneGirl.GirlGone" will be released in May, 2015.
