Philadelphia Airport Display Fascinates Visitors
Hatfield, PA (PRWEB) May 14, 2014
KâNEX, the only U.S. construction toy company committed to Building Worlds Kids Love®, is excited to announce the launch of the KâNEX: Innovative Engineering @Play exhibit at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). The exhibit will be on display in Terminal A-West, post-security, and is accessible to ticketed passengers through October 2014. A talented team of 6 KâNEX designers and engineers worked together for nearly 170 hours to create KâNEX: Innovative Engineering @Play, an amazing 7-foot tall kinetic structure made up of more than 48,000 made in the USA KâNEX parts.
âWe are extremely thankful to the Philadelphia Airport for partnering with us to showcase the versatility of KâNEX, which is made right here in Pennsylvania, to millions of airport visitors through this exhibit,â said Michael Araten, President and CEO of KâNEX Brands. âI am so proud of the team of KâNEX designers and engineers who worked so hard to make KâNEX: Innovative Engineering @Play a reality. Our team is incredibly skilled, and this jaw dropping exhibit is homage to their creativity.â
The exhibit captures the essence of KâNEX, forever encouraging youngsters to âimagine, build and playâ. Over 31 billion KâNEX parts have been manufactured for the KâNEX building toy system since it was founded in 1992. Since then, KâNEX has become a staple in classrooms and living rooms across the world. Considered a dynamic tool for creative learning, KâNEX Building Sets are used to teach the principles of science, technology, engineering and math. The hands-on characteristics of KâNEX helps promote problem-solving, critical thinking, concentration, and the creativity that makes learning fun and easier to understand.
âToy construction sets have fascinated people of all ages for generations, and have also become more sophisticated over time,â said Airport CEO Mark Gale. âKâNEX has been at the forefront of this evolution, and the detail and ingenuity used to create this exhibit, with all its moving parts, is mesmerizing. I want to acknowledge the talented designers and engineers at KâNEX who created this awesome structure that is being enjoyed by millions of visitors from throughout the world.â
