NeuLife Neurological Services announces the opening of a residential post-acute program providing care and offering specialized services to individuals with catastrophic injuries and challenging diagnoses, with a focus on moving the clients from trauma to independence.

NeuLife currently employs 20 full-time staff. At full-capacity, the facility will serve 54 clients and employ up to 175 professionals and para-professionals.

Care Plans are developed and implemented by NeuLife’s professional staff that includes a board certified physiatrist who serves as medical director, board certified psychiatrist, neuropsychologists, board certified behavior analyst, trauma social worker, speech language pathologist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, vocational evaluator, nutritionist and registered nurses.

A comprehensive evaluation, which includes each client’s personal goals and preferences as well as clinical needs, is conducted by the clinical team at NeuLife. Care may include specialized therapies and nursing services, wellness care including exercise, diet and nutrition, training in activities of daily living, psychological and adjustment counseling services, and various medical services. All services are specific to each individual served at NeuLife.

Each fully-accessible room includes a large bathroom with a roll-in shower and large closet. There are several family gathering areas to offer a living-room type setting for relatives and friends. On 43 acres, patients can experience a home and community environment with training kitchens and laundry rooms, a therapeutic recreational room equipped with ping-pong, air hockey and pool tables, a large exercise room, a bistro, several Wii and PlayStation areas, a non-denominational chapel, surround-sound theatre, volleyball, tetherball and basketball courts, pet therapy, horses and nature trails. All environments and activities are therapeutically designed to enhance learned skills.

NeuLife is privately owned and operated. New clients are now being accepted and must be 18 years of age. Referrals can be made by workers’ compensation and liability adjusters, nurse case managers, hospitals and trauma centers, acute rehabilitation facilities and other residential programs.
