Reykjavik, Iceland (PRWEB) October 09, 2014

CCP, the leading independent developer of massively multiplayer games (MMO), and GreenQloud, the cloud infrastructure software solutions company, today jointly announced that CCP will implement GreenQloud’s QStack™ cloud infrastructure software for a private cloud deployment to manage their extensive IT operations, which includes multiple data centers, geozones and infrastructure environments.

QStack is a turnkey cloud infrastructure software solution for leveraging existing resources and adapting them to meet forward-looking IT infrastructure needs, while lending significantly greater transparency into data and energy cost and usage. It includes a unified, customizable self-service web portal for users and administrators that allows the management of multiple data centers, geozones and cloud deployments optimized for hybrid environments from a single pane of glass.

QStack can run any virtualizable operating system and supports bare metal provisioning for High Performance Computing environments (HPC). It is hypervisor-agnostic, featuring advanced industry compatible API controls for full automation of IT services and able to run on any commodity hardware. Therefore, QStack can leverage existing infrastructure and licensing investments with the flexibility of an elastically scaling cloud, spanning multiple locations, deployment configurations and dynamically changing workloads.

“CCP is the ideal customer for QStack, with their intricate IT infrastructure, that includes significant development, staging and production environments. CCP wanted their private cloud to have hybrid options which could be managed from a single pane of glass. With QStack, CCP can control both their internal infrastructure and burst into a public cloud provider of choice with a full project and departmental overview of usage,” said Jónsi Stefánsson, CEO of GreenQloud.

“CCP needed a solution that would enable us to manage our growing infrastructure effectively, while reducing cloud sprawl and facilitating greater usage and cost transparency. GreenQloud’s QStack creates for us a cohesive hybrid cloud with the visibility and flexibility we need in one comprehensive dashboard,” said Jón Viggó Gunnarsson, Manager Virtual World Operations, CCP.
