Microsoft Honors Project Leadership Associates' Kris Wagner as MVP

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) October 16, 2014

On Wednesday, October 1, Microsoft honored Project Leadership Associates’ Kris Wagner for the fifth year in-a-row with the Most Valued Professional (MVP) Award for his impressive technical knowledge as a SharePoint Server Subject Matter Expert (SME) and of Microsoft software and programs as a whole.

Wagner is one of 1,031 “exemplary community leaders around the world” to receive the MVP Award in 2014. To qualify for the prestige, Microsoft explains that MVP’s “are exceptional community leaders who actively share their high-quality, real-world deep technical expertise with the community and with Microsoft.” Wagner’s specialty in SharePoint shined amongst the masses, namely for his dedicated involvement on Microsoft SharePoint and Office365 forums, helping the public forum users with countless questions regarding the software.

“I really do love what I do [and] I love SharePoint. There’s no qualms about it. Technology and Microsoft is a huge part of who I am,” said Wagner. “Project Leadership Associates (PLA) really pushed me to engage and start user groups. I’m a Microsoft speaker and I’ve spoken all over the U.S. now. So PLA pushed me in a good way.”

At Project Leadership Associates, Wagner is a Chief Architect and is responsible for all aspects of pre-sales and post-sales as they relate to SharePoint and Software Development practices. In addition to being a Microsoft SharePoint Server MVP, he is also a Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) and a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS).

Despite Wagner’s high accolades in the SharePoint and Microsoft arena, it has not always been an easy road to success. “I’m dyslexic and it’s just that my mind thinks faster than I can actually write. I’m always processing a million things at once,” explained Wagner. “It’s been challenging throughout my career, but the Most Valued Professional Award is worth it all.”

In June 2013, Wagner delved even deeper into his passion for Microsoft by starting his own 501(c)(3) non-profit called SPS Chicago NFP. Primarily, the organization works to create free SharePoint Saturday events for the Chicago community as well as additional events based on a wide variety of Microsoft subject matter. To this end, Wagner remains driven to find new and greater ways to share his special knowledge of Microsoft with the world.

“Every Sept. 30, I’m always in panic-mode. I don’t sleep the night before, because I don’t know if I’m going to get [the award again],” said Wagner. Despite his anticipation, he says that he is committed to the Microsoft family and hopes to hold tight to his MVP status from year-to-year.
