GuitarControl.com released a new video guitar lesson from GuitarControl.com instructor and creator Claude Johnson. In this easy guitar lesson, now available on YouTube.com, Claude Johnson teaches a lesson on country chords for guitar.

“For this lesson first you need to learn some basic chords”, says Johnson, “the chords you will need to know are; A, E, F#m (F Sharp Minor) and D”. Claude demonstrates these chords as follows; A, which consists of open 5th string and baring your first finger across the 2nd fret of the 4th, 3rd and 2nd strings and open first string, E, which consists of open 6th string, 2nd fret of the 5th string with 2nd finger, 2nd fret of the 4th string with 3rd finger, first fret of the 3rd string with first finger and open first and 2nd strings, F#m, which consists of baring your first finger across the 2nd fret of all six strings, 4th fret of the 5th string with 3rd finger and 4th fret of the 4th string with 4th finger and D, which consists of the 4th string open, 2nd fret of the 3rd string with first finger, 3rd fret of the 2nd string with 3rd finger and 2nd fret of the first string with 2nd finger.

“First I want to show you a strum, which is similar to Country Roads by John Denver”, says Johnson. Claude demonstrates this strum as an alternating bass line by first picking the root note of the chord as a ¼ note and then a down and then up stroke of the whole chord as 1/8th notes and then picking the next lowest string as the bass note and then simply repeating this sequence for each chord. Guitar TAB’s are available for this easy country rhythm guitar lesson at GuitarControl.com.
