Just over two months after Steel Mill Pictures and Magnolia Pictures released the award-winning film Filth on DVD and Blu-ray in the U.S., Ciara McAvoy’s traditionally illustrated Filth movie poster was selected by The Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts to receive a Davey Award for her hand-painted poster for the feature film Filth. It is the second award for McAvoy in less than a month.

McAvoy’s promotional poster for Filth, which captured the true essence of the film’s dark comedy, also captured the attention of discerning judges who evaluate artistic work with a benchmark standard of excellence. Her win is an indication that the world of movie-campaign marketing still has a place for well-executed traditional illustrationâ€"a field often believed to be a dying art given the proliferation of photographic and digital imagery used in movie poster design in recent years. Written and directed by Jon S. Baird (Cass) and based on the Irvine Welsh (Trainspotting) novel of the same name, Filth stars James McAvoy, who himself won Best Actor at the 2013 British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) and Jameson Empire Awards in 2014. Baird was nominated for Best Director at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). Filth and James McAvoy also received Best Film and Best Actor BAFTA nominations respectively.

McAvoy will make her film producing debut in two upcoming features; Kaleidoscope Man (2015), currently filming and Enemy of Man (2015), an adaptation of Macbeth and currently in development, starring Sean Bean, Rupert Grint, Charles Dance.
