GuitarControl.com released a new video guitar lesson from GuitarControl.com instructor and creator Claude Johnson. In this guitar lesson, now available on YouTube.com, Claude Johnson teaches an easy chicken picking lick.
“Today I want to show you a couple of easy chicken picking licks in key of A pentatonicâ€, says Johnson. Claude demonstrates the licks using the finger picking technique, but you can also use the hybrid picking technique as well. The licks are based from playing double stops on two strings at a time of which he starts off with the 3rd and 2nd strings. Claude demonstrates an exercise for building up the technique as follows; 9th fret of the 3rd string with 3rd finger and 2nd finger on the 8th fret of the 2nd string of which he slides into from the A minor pentatonic scale and then alternates from the 8th fret to the 11th fret of the 2nd string. Double Stops is the technique of playing two strings at the same time, usually done using the hybrid picking technique.
Hybrid Picking is a technique where the guitarist uses a flat pick with the thumb and first finger and finger picks with the remaining fingers. Double Stops is the technique of playing two strings at the same time, usually done using the hybrid picking technique.
A Pentatonic Scale is a musical scale with five notes per octave and is very common and found all over the world.
