Today DaySpark announced that Eric Hadley of Pinterest, Nathanial “Nate” Friends & Gregory Hayes both of Microsoft Corporation, and Peter Bale Media Consultant formerly General Manager & Vice President of Digital for CNN have joined as Advisers to DaySpark. With its patent pending Videobar® technology which provides “Instant 8-second Previews” of longer form digital videos, DaySpark is an emerging video platform company focused on changing the way consumers find and enjoy videos every day.

Eric Hadley

Pinterest
Eric runs all partner marketing programs at Pinterest spanning the company’s relationships. Hadley leads Pinterest's agency outreach organization that works with creative shops and media agencies to develop content and media-buying strategies for their clients, as well as overseeing strategy and messaging for small-, medium- and large-sized brands, including retailers and e-commerce companies.
Previously Eric Hadley was SVP, sales strategy and marketing for The Weather Company (Weather), spearheading B2B marketing and developing large-scale opportunities with premium advertisers. He led the team’s charge to elevate Weather’s brand portfolio throughout the advertising community by leveraging its ability to deliver cutting-edge, large-scale advertising and data-driven campaigns for marketers across The Weather Channel platforms.
Hadley spent 11 years at Microsoft, from 1999-2007 and 2009-12. Most recently, he served as GM, worldwide marketing for BING and MSN, where he built and executed the launch of BING, Microsoft's most effective brand launch since Xbox. Between his years at Microsoft, Hadley served as VP, advertiser and partner marketing for Yahoo!, and chief marketing and revenue officer for Heavy.com. Earlier, Hadley served on account teams at Ogilvy and Mather (NYC), Ammirati & Puris (NYC), and DDB (Seattle).
Hadley has received numerous awards and recognition for his work throughout his career, including 2011 Cannes Lion Grand Prix and Titanium Awards, Effie Awards, the Ad Age Top Brand of 2009, the Microsoft Circle of Excellence Award, and the David Ogilvy Award. He was also named an Ad Age Media Maven and inducted into the AAF Hall of Achievement.
Nathaniel (Nate) Friends
Lead Business development Director for Digital Sports and Strategic Partnerships for Microsoft’s Information and Consumer Experiences Business Unit

Nathaniel (Nate) Friends is an accomplished legal and business development executive, with over 15 years of legal and business experience, focused primarily on online, digital/new media content, technology and online revenue generation transactions. Nate also has legal experience representing clients in the areas of private equity and mergers and acquisitions, well as all general corporate and IP/licensing transactional matters. Nate also has extensive experience developing, structuring and successfully managing long term strategic and complex business relationships, partnerships and joint ventures (from a legal, business and operations perspective) with global entities of all scopes, sizes and industries, as well as experience managing in-house transactional focused legal and business development teams.
Nate is currently the lead business development Director for Digital Sports and Strategic Partnerships for Microsoft’s Information and Consumer Experiences business unit. In this role Nate heads the strategic formation and execution of Microsoft's first aggregate, multi-platform, online sports information content vertical and cross-platform network (featuring partnerships with various major professional and college sports leagues/providers, major U.S. and Global sports publishers, and sports data providers).
Prior to his current role at Microsoft Nate was the lead attorney for MSN in Microsoft’s Legal and Corporate Affairs department, and was a former senior level management in-house attorney (Assistant General Counsel) at both AOL and Time Warner. While at AOL Nate was the lead transactional/managing attorney over AOL’s global and multi-billion dollar search partnership with Google, Inc. Nate started his legal career in New York with the law firm Dewey & LeBoeuf (fka Dewey Ballantine) where he worked in the areas of private equity and mergers and acquisitions. Nate has also held IP transactional attorney positions in Washington, D.C. at both King & Spalding and Brownstein, Hyatt, Farber & Schreck, where he served as virtual/outside general counsel for various online technology companies.
Gregory Hayes
General Manager, ICE International Business Development for Microsoft Corporation
Greg is the General Manager, ICE International Business Development for Microsoft Corporation and moved into this role as of September 2013. Previously he held the positions of General Manager, Bing Apps International, and General Manager of MSN Americas Region.
He brings to Microsoft Corporation a wealth of senior international management experience from the New Media/Television, IT and Distribution industries across numerous geographical territories including Latin America, Asia/Pacific, Europe and North America.
Prior to joining Microsoft, Greg alternated between New Zealand and the USA as CEO of a mobile marketing/interactive television company and in less than two years grew the company to be a major player in its respective target market within the USA, and additionally in Germany and Italy through securing key sports content partnerships.
Before then, he held the position of SVP, Advertising Sales and Multimedia Ventures for the sports television joint venture between ESPN and STAR Sports covering Asia & Middle East.
During his time there he was instrumental in developing integrated solution based selling practices (incorporating television, mobile, internet) and achieved various sales and marketing awards from the Asian Cable and Satellite Industry Association.
Prior to that role, he worked with News Corporation’s Asia satellite TV business (STAR TV) in such markets as Indonesia, China, India, and the Middle East.
He is a graduate of the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia and has actively participated in numerous sports at state and national representative levels.
Peter Durham
Chief Software Architect of NBC News Digital
Peter Durham recently retired as Chief Software Architect of NBC News Digital, where he evolves and describes the long-term technology vision for the company, and guides efforts to achieve this vision. He supports strategic efforts around technology directions, choices, and acquisitions; and tactical efforts around project requirements, reviews, and problem solving. Before joining msnbc.com, Peter worked at Microsoft on Mail 3.x and Exchange 4.x. He has a BA in Applied Math and an MS in Computer Science from Harvard
Peter Bale
Media Consultant
Peter Bale is a media consultant, executive and journalist with a background in creating successful consumer products for major media houses. Most recently Peter was the General Manager & Vice President of Digital for CNN International, responsible for all digital business outside the United States. He joined CNN from Microsoft where he ran content for MSN
International after redeveloping the MSN UK portal. He has held senior digital roles in News Corporation, Pearson and was a Reuters correspondent and editor for many years. Based in London he is an adviser and consultant to a number of start-ups.
