K’NEX® President & CEO, Michael Araten, Participates in SelectUSA Roundtable Discussion at White House

Hatfield, PA (PRWEB) May 20, 2014

K’NEX Brands, the only construction toy company manufacturing toys on a grand scale in the USA, is honored to announce that Michael Araten, President & CEO of K’NEX and The Rodon Group, will be participating in a SelectUSA roundtable discussion on reshoring and insourcing at the White House on May 20, 2014.

In 2011, the President launched SelectUSAâ€"a global team in embassies abroad and agencies at home focused on encouraging and supporting companies to bring job creating and investing to the United States. Last October, the President hosted the first ever SelectUSA Summit, bringing more than 1,300 people (including business executives from more than 60 countries, governors, mayors, and economic development officials from 48 states) to see the benefits of doing business and creating jobs in the U.S., and establishing the connections to make that happen.

Today’s SelectUSA Investing in America roundtable discussion, hosted by the President, with Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker, Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett, and National Economic Council Director Jeff Zients, will bring 11 companies that have recently chosen to invest in the United States, together. These companies, including K’NEX Brands, Ford, Erisson, and more, have recognized the many advantages of locating, growing, and hiring in the United States, and will discuss the key reasons they chose to invest and hire in the U.S. and what more we can do together to bring additional job-creating investment to the U.S. Together, the roundtable participants are investing billions of dollars in the U.S., and creating thousands of new jobs.

Michael Araten, recently named one of the top CEO Leaders in STEM, is honored to participate in this important discussion. He says, “Sitting down with the President, his advisors and the fine leaders of these other great companies to discuss the importance of Investing in America is a great privilege.” Araten continues, “The keys to the success of American manufacturing are abundant energy, consumers who can easily recognize that products they love are made in the USA, and STEM education. STEM is the heart of innovation and innovation drives growth, profit and jobs of the future. K’NEX and Rodon work actively with local community colleges and technical schools to ensure that students graduate with the skills they need to work at companies like ours. And through the K’NEX Education line, we are providing teachers with a complete STEM solution, enabling them to teach critical concepts in sequence and demonstrate real world applications.”
